Things I Love Thursday // 11.07.13

  • Watching The Princess Bride with the girls and listening to them enjoy it uproariously
  • Enjoying another fabulous dinner at our friends' house over the weekend
  • Putting the Halloween decorations away and "warming up" the living room for the holidays
  • Our visiting Mr. Owl who came to hang out on the fence yesterday, who then inspired some Jones Girl artwork

  • Finally diving into Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell
  • Everything I've heard Caroline Pennell sing on this season of The Voice has been fantastic! The performance of We're Going to Be Friends from this week, in particular: Obsessed. I also loved her performances of The Way I Am and her studio version of As Long As You Love Me. But I was first delighted by her during her blind audition of Anything Could Happen. It seems that she has been genuinely blown away by her own success.
  • A little "pinspired" project the girls and I have been working on and making some holiday plans for…
  • Re-reading my great-grandmother's diary and finding the quote, "If you love life, life will love you back." ~Arthur Rubinstein
  • Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread Pudding ~ Seriously, Trader Joe's. You're killing me over here.
  • A perfectly soft-boiled egg
  • These delightfully named (IMO) and adorable "Holden" fall booties (in Biscuit) at Nordstrom (on sale now!)
  • Returning to Barre this week after several weeks off and experiencing that acute kind of soreness that only isolated, minuscule, receptive (to the point of self-inflicted charlie horses) movement can induce
  • Coming upon this little critter last weekend during a family walk through the neighborhood ~ What is it? A mole? It was snacking on an earthworm. It didn't seem too bothered by our proximity (maybe because we're not owls). The picture is blurry because it was very quick on those sharp little rodent feet.
